Your gorilla adventure begins with a greeting from your Worthwhile Africa driver-guide at Kigali International Airport. You travel by road to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, crossing the border at Cyanika. You arrive at your lodge with time for lunch and a relaxed afternoon before tomorrow’s trek.
An early breakfast precedes the gorilla tracking experience in Bwindi’s forest. You spend time observing mountain gorillas in their natural environment. The trek can take from two to nine hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. A briefing covers the guidelines for approaching and observing the gorillas. Return to your lodge for dinner and the night.
After breakfast, you drive to the Cyanika border for crossing formalities, then continue to Kigali. A city tour includes visits to the craft market, the Gisozi Genocide Memorial, and the Kigali Museum. The city offers a final opportunity for souvenir shopping before your transfer to the airport for departure.
